Almost a week into free agency, the New Orleans Saints still have plenty of roster holes, but not much cap space to use.

According to the latest 2016 salary cap numbers, the Saints are last in the NFL in cap space with $2,551,509.

Consequently, they lead the NFL by far in dead money with $31,331,847. Of the 32 teams in the NFL, 26 squads have 9 figures or less in that department, with several teams at less than $1 million.

Poor signings have put the Saints into the position they currently sit in.

With the NFL draft on the horizon, and a defense that needs better players, New Orleans needs to find a few diamonds in the rough.

Only one players has signed with New Orleans that wasn't with the team last year in tight end Coby Fleener. His cap hit in year 1 of his 5 year deal is $2.6 million, but jumps dramatically the following years.
