Football is a sport filled with cliches but no cliche was ever more right on target than you got to play for 60 minutes. The Saints had a lot of us worried with a couple of turnovers in the first half and what seemed to be a less than professional defensive effort.

In fact the Saints trailed the Detroit Lions as the teams went to the intermission. In the 3rd quarter, the Saints most of us know and love took the field and basically ran the ball right down the Lions throat. It was game on and then game over.

We learned a couple of things from the Saints 45- 28 victory over Detroit last night. The first thing, Detroit is not the doormat of the league it once was. They are going to be a major player for the next couple of years.

We also learned that the Saints are no longer a one trick pony. No longer is it incumbent upon Drew Brees to throw for monster yardage, this team can run the ball with the best of them.

Next up for the Saints is a trip out west to take on the hated 49ers. True Saints fans can taste the bile in their mouths when they have to say the words 49ers. It's an old NFC West rivalry with a team we love to beat. I am sure this years Saints squad would like nothing better to set up the NFC Championship game by dispatching the 49ers in short order.

You can hear the Saints pregame show and be a part of the Bobby Hebert drinking game again on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1:30.
