With the 2nd of their 3rd round picks, the New Orleans Saints took a gamble on Florida inside linebacker Alex Anzalone.

Anzalone proved he could effectively blitz the quarterback...when healthy.

He missed a dozen games in 2015 with a shoulder injury that limited him in his freshmen season of 2013. Last season, he battled through a forearm injury.

In his first media call after being drafted, Anzalone claims his shoulder has been fine since 2015 and his forearm is completely healed.

An impressive Senior Bowl week helped Anzalone move up on draft boards, and the Saints like what he can potentially be if healthy, particularly in pass coverage.

He struggled in run support at Florida, playing his best ball when the Gator defense was playing the pass.

His versatility will be an asset, as he played Sam, Mike and Will linebacker, spending his senior season primarily at WILL.

Pro Football Focus compares him to former Saints linebacker Jonathan Casillas.
