Saints Sign LB Nate Stupar, Learn More About Him Here

Linebacker is a position of need for the New Orleans Saints, but the team has the least amount of cap space of all 32 NFL teams. Did they find a bargain with their latest signing?

Nate Stupar has inked a 3 year deal with the Saints, the team announced today.

Most recently with the rival Atlanta Falcons, Stupar broken into the league as a 7th round pick of the Oakland Raiders in 2012 out of Penn State.

He spent time on Philadelphia's practice squad in 2012 before making San Francisco's roster for part of 2013. After the 49ers let him go, he spent part of 2013 with Jacksonville.

In 2014 he joined Atlanta, making their 53 man roster, spending the last two seasons there.

Stupar is a special teamer, racking up 18 special teams tackles in two years with the Falcons.

For his career, the 28 year old has tallied 51 tackles, 1 sack, 2 passes defensed, 1 fumble recovery returned for a touchdown and 28 special teams tackles.

He can play each linebacker position and will likely serve as a backup in that department.

Stupar is only the second free agent signed by the Saints who played for another team last season.
