Sammy Kershaw Videos Shot in Louisiana

We are only a few days away from a night of classic country music as 97.3 The Dawg welcomes the Roots & Boots tour to Parc International in downtown Lafayette this Thursday, April 19th.

If you have not got your tickets yet, fret not, as there are plenty available here at our website or at Cal's Western Store in Lafayette, Avon By Christy in Opelousas, The Boudin Shop and Chicken on the Bayou in Henderson and Simon's Supermarket in Kaplan. Tickets are only $20 in advance.

Of course the show features Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin and Joe Diffie along with Blaine Roy & Second Wind.

We got to get ready for the show. So, I decided to put up a few of Sammy's videos that he shot in his home state. If I left any off, let me know and I will post.

THIRD RATE ROMANCE

Most of us recall this song as a big hit for the Amazing Rhythm Aces. But in 1994 Sammy took his rendition to #2 on the charts. The video (as I recall) was shot at a motel in Opelousas. I don't remember exactly which one but it's kind of a funny video.

VIDALIA

For many years Sammy put on a big benefit at Kaplan High School called Sam Jam. It was always a great lineup of the day's biggest stars. And the best part, it was all to benefit the Sammy Kershaw Foundation which did great work in the community. This video was shot during Sam Jam.

BETTER THAN I USED TO BE

No offense to Tim McGraw, but his version of this song ain't got nothing on Sammy's! The video is simple, but it most definitely works for this poignant song. Props to our buddy Glen Clark for doing a bang up job on this video. I'm pretty sure Glen told me this was recorded in Sammy's own house!

CADILLAC STYLE

This is the song that got it all started for Sammy in the early 90s. Easy to see where this one was filmed.
