Sandbag Locations in Acadiana

Port Barre sand bag locations will be the Veteran's Memorial park behind city hall and Dixie storage on US 190, across from Chase Bank.
Remember, these are self fill bagging stations. If you are physically able, please bring a shovel and fill your own bags.
Please be careful and cautious of snakes and alligators. The rising water pushes them into our properties. A 10-12 foot alligator was spotted in a shed at one of the homes along Bayou Courtableau.

St. Martin Parish Sand Bag Distribution Hours Extended

There will be sand bags available for residents of upper and lower St. Martin Parish from 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. today at the following locations:

South Barn-Off of Capritto Forty Arpent Road

Ruth Bridge Barn-Ruth Bridge

3257 Hwy. 70,  Stephensville, LA.  (At the Park)

Please bring a shovel and be prepared to fill your own sandbags.

Lafayette Consolidate Government Department of Public Works has announced the opening of two additional sandbag stations for Lafayette Parish.

Residents may access sandbags:
·      SANDBAGS NOT AVAILABLE: Blackham Coliseum, located at 2330 Johnston St. (temporary, emergency location)
·       LCG Compost Facility, located at 400 N Dugas Road, off North University Ave. (permanent, regular sandbag site)
·       South District sandbag site, located at 1017 Fortune Road in Youngsville.

Sandbags will be available at all four sites throughout the weekend during daytime hours.

The sites are "self-bagging," meaning the bags and sand are provided to Lafayette Parish residents free, at no charge, but residents will need to supply their own manpower and shovel. Residents are asked to limit their sandbags to four bags per exterior door, with a maximum of 20 sandbags per household.

Sand bags are available in Breaux Bridge at 231 Refinery Street.

According to the mayor,the facility will be open all weekend.

Residents of Eunice are able to pick up sand bags at the Eunice City Barn located at 750 S. Bobcat Drive. Residents must be present a valid ID at the time of pickup. Residents are allowed three sand bags per household. The city will be distributing sand bags until 5:00 p.m.

Officials say parish residents may pick up 10-12 sandbags at the Yambilee building on Hwy 190. Bags are there at the site but It is a fill your own bag until further updated weather announcements.

The City of Scott will be giving out sandbags ONLY TO SCOTT RESIDENTS.  Residents must show I.D. proving they are in the corporate limits of Scott not the Parish. Sandbags can be picked up at The City Maintenance Building at 118 Lions Club Road Scott, LA 70583.  Limit is 3 bags per door.   Sandbags available in Broussard behind City Hall next to the Community Center and in Deer Meadow.

The City of Crowley Public Works department will issue sand bags today until 3:00 p.m. You must present a valid driver's license. Six sand bags will be issued per driver's license/household.

There will be sand available for residents of St. Martin Parish beginning at 8:00 a.m. this morning at the following locations:

The town of Church Point will have sandbags(self-filled)  available at the City Barn located at 124 S. Guidry.  3 bag per door bag limit.

The Vermilion Parish Police Jury is providing sand, bags and shovels for the residents of Vermilion Parish in preparation for heavy rains and possible flooding. Sand and bags can be picked up at the following locations:

Public Works Building
2211 Leonie Street
Abbeville, La.

The residents will have to fill their own bags.
