Public Service Commissioner from District 2 and Breaux  Bridge native Scott Angelle has announced today that he will run for governor of Louisiana.

The election will be held in the fall of 2015. Other announced candidates include U.S. Sen. David Vitter.

Angelle, a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a degree in Petroleum Land Management, tells the Moon Griffon Show on KPEL that "great things are ahead of us."

When asked about the financial issues facing the state in the next two years, Angelle says "we can be better." Angelle says residents need to understand that 80 percent of the state's general fund is dedicated to education, incarceration, and health care.

Angelle says his experience in public office and his reputation will give him an edge in the race to handle the major financial issues facing the state of Louisiana.

He says he believes in the state and the future of Louisiana.

Angelle has served on the Public Service Commission and in 2010 was selected by Governor Bobby Jindal to take over the post of Lt. Governor.

"I am a workhorse, not a showhorse," Angelle says.
