Move over Bill Belichick. New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton is now the highest paid coach in America, according to a Forbes article.
Payton, who recently negotiated a new contract with the Saints, will make about $8 million per year. The details were reworked after the NFL voided his existing contract following a year's suspension.
Belichick, who topped the list for two years as coach of the New England Patriots, is now tied for No. 2 on the list with new Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid. Eight of the top 10 highest paid coaches are in the NFL.
