Louisiana is filled with amazing musical talent and now we're in search of the next big singing star.

97.3 The Dawg presents our Risers competition, where we will crown Acadiana's best new country act.

The contest is real simple. We want to hear from the best original country singers, duos or bands. Now, first off, we want someone doing original tunes, not covers of other artists. The concept is to find out who has a shot to one day make some noise in Nashville.

Anyone interested in competing needs to submit a video of them performing an original tune. It can be a raw video or something uploaded to a site like YouTube.

We will allow submissions until Thursday, November 16th. A panel of judges will comb through the entries and decide on the finalists. (That number depends on the amount of total entries.) The finalists will be announced on Friday, November 17th's Bruce & Jude morning show on 97.3 The Dawg.

All finalists will get to make a new professional video through Townsquare Media's videography department. Those final videos will then be posted on November 27th for fans will vote for their favorite and an eventual champion will be crowned.

This is where things get really good! The grand prize winner of our Risers contest will get the following fabulous prizes:

  • $500
  • The opportunity to perform at our Rowdy Christmas concert at Cowboy's Night Club in Lafayette on December 9th, opening for Dustin Sonnier and Jordan Davis
  • The chance to move on in the national Risers competition with our partners at Taste of Country.
