It's often said that no good deed will go unpunished. Well, that would have been the case here had it not have been for an act of divine intervention.

25-year-old Tulane medical student Peter Gold was walking across a street in New Orleans when he noticed a man trying to rob a woman at gunpoint. He then intervened to stop the robbery and was shot in the stomach.

The incident, which was entirely caught on a security camera, shows Gold walking up to the suspect. The suspect then demanded Gold to give him money. When Gold said he had nothing, the suspect shot him in the stomach.

Also, the suspect proceeded to shoot Gold in the head when his gun jammed in which the suspect fled. The suspect, who was later identified as 21-year-old Euric Cain, was arrested by New Orleans Police and United States Marshals earlier this morning. The prosecutors requested that Cain not receive bail and that he is "a menace to society".
