With flooding caused by recent hurricanes and storms in our region, a lot of hurricane-damaged vehicles are floating around out there.

That isn't a pun.

According to NBC News, thousands of vehicles that were flooded in recent storms are headed back out into the market all across the United States. Given the proximity of our area, the chances you will come across a flood-damaged car is increased, so you have to know what to look for.

First of all, rust is the most obvious tell-tale sign of a flooded vehicle or a vehicle that has been affected by water in some way, shape or form. Other signs include condensation under the headlamps, sand under the seats and brand new upholstery in a used car.

Check out the video for more signs and always enter the VIN at NICB.org
