SLEMCO is prepared to handle any potential power outages from Hurricane Harvey as it makes landfall once, and maybe twice, in the next several days.

Expected to hit the Texas coast late tonight or early tomorrow, the most accurate forecast models then show the center of the storm wobbling back over the Gulf of Mexico before making landfall again on the southwest Louisiana coastline early next week.

SLEMCO officials will be carefully monitoring the situation over the next few days, making certain that all material and manpower will be on standby and ready to restore power, if needed.

Field crews and employees--as well as contractor crews specializing in both electrical construction and right-of-way tree clearing--will be mobilized and assigned to work centers in Lafayette, Kaplan, Crowley and Washington to be able to respond immediately to outages.

Office personnel will be assigned to support outage restoration in whatever way needed.

Outages can be reported by calling 1-888-275-3626 or the main service line at 337-896-5551.
