I have to admit pumping gas is usually as quick and efficient as a NASCAR pit stop. In fact when I pull into a gas station I like to pretend that I am on a race day pit crew and I like to see how fast I can fill up and be back on the road. The ability to swipe a credit card and start pumping makes this possible. The only time there is an issue is when the credit card function is down or the pump is moving incredibly slow. Such is the case in this video I made yesterday.

Just to give you some background. I was the only one on the pump for about three minutes and was only able to pump about a gallon of fuel. When the other gentleman pulled up the pump got even slower. He went inside and asked the clerk if there was a way to speed things up. The clerk suggested we both stop pumping at the same time and wait 20 seconds. She said this would reset the pump, it  did not. After about ten minutes I finally got $10 dollars worth of fuel in my car and left to find another pump.

Just so you can compare the speeds of fuel delivery, here is a video of a second gas pump where I was able to fill up my car in less than ten minutes.

What do you do when the gas pump is pumping weigh too slow? Do you stop at $5 and move on to somewhere else or do you wait it out until eventually your tank is topped off?
