The next 24 hours across Louisiana won't just be a tale of two days, it will be a tale of two seasons all in one weekend. Most residents of the Bayou State would simply shrug their shoulders and say "typical". While frequent and wide changes in Louisiana's weather landscape are common this year, today holds a potential for strong to severe thunderstorms before the big chill sets in.

The timing on the worst of the weather puts Acadiana under the gun most likely between midnight tonight and 6 AM Sunday morning. New Orleans Bowl travellers should not expect bad weather on their journey this afternoon. However, those who might be travelling back to Acadiana after tonight's game could be running into the brunt of the storms on their return trip.

If you are going to being staying overnight in New Orleans, other than a few sprinkles or showers before and after the game your time in the Big Easy should be just fine. Chances are you will be sleeping it off when the line of storms moves across southeastern Louisiana mid-morning on Sunday. If I were you I wouldn't leave New Orleans early, I'd let the weather creep on by and then hit the road.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed all of Louisiana in a marginal threat category for severe weather today. Portions of central and northeastern Louisiana will have a slightly higher probability of strong storms developing.

The forecast for Sunday will be decidedly different than today's forecast. The high temperature on Saturday according to our weather partners at KATC should reach almost 80 degrees. It's quite probable that the high temperature on Sunday will be reached shortly after midnight and temperatures will fall drastically after the frontal passage. Most of the day Sunday will be quite cold with temperatures holding in the middle 40-degree range. There will also be a strong north wind that will make that cold temperature feel even colder.
