Father Michael Guidry turned himself into authorities in St. Landry Parish early this morning. The Catholic Priest was charged for sexually abusing a minor male parishioner. A judge set a bond of $21,500.

The male victim, who was 16 at the time of the abuse, said the incident happened at the priest's home in Morrow. Guidry's attorney says he admitted to providing the victim with alcohol before the sexual assault.
KATC reporter Kendria LaFleur was there when Guidry turned himself in.

Last week, Bishop Douglas Deshotel told reporters the 75-year-old Guidry served St. Peter Church in Morrow and Resurrection Chapel in Whiteville. At the time, the Bishop said he would continue to receive his regular salary. We expect an updated statement from the Diocese at some point today.

Father Michael Guidry surrendered to authorities this morning at the parish jail and was charged with molestation of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
