Someone dumped three malnourished, abused horses in a secluded area just outside of Pearl River, and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office wants your help finding who's responsible.

From WWL.com -

"Witnesses reported seeing a white Chevrolet pickup truck pulling a newer-model silver horse trailer in the area at approximately 8 p.m. Monday night."

She says because the horses were in such bad shape they couldn't load them into a sheriff's department trailer.

"Deputies stayed with the horses overnight and representatives from parish's Animal Services Department and a veterinarian responded to the location this morning to evaluate the horses and assist with moving them."

Two of the horses are in the custody of Animal Services. The third was not able to be saved and was euthanized by the veterinarian on the scene.

Here's how you can help. If you have information regarding the white Chevrolet truck and trailer in the area Monday night, please call the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office at 985-898-2338 or Animal Services at 985-809-0183.
