It was supposed to be a fun filled night of music and celebration. It turned out to be an evening of chaos and injury. Just as a student musical production at Westfield High School in suburban Indianapolis was reaching its grand finale with the entire cast assembling on stage, the portion of the stage that was built to cover the orchestra pit collapsed.

The dramatic video shows students singing and dancing to the show's final number and then you can see the ground fall beneath the students. Early reports show that nearly 2 dozen cast members were injured. At least one of the students was reported to be in critical condition. Most of the injuries were minor in nature, bumps, bruises, and cuts.

Several of the injured were taken to area hospitals for treatment and evaluation. Other students involved in the collapse were brought to the hospital by family members. The incident remains under investigation.
