The Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control recently concluded a three month investigation, and sixteen Lafayette businesses in the downtown area received citations.

The Commissioner of Alcohol and Tobacco Control Troy Hebert says nearly 60 violations were given out to bars and nightclubs.

Hebert says most of the citations were because alcohol was sold to minors.

During the investigation 26 different place were investigated by undercover agents after Hebert say the ATC received multiple complaints from that area.

Administrative hearings will be held now for the alleged violators.  Penalties could range from fines to suspensions of alcohol permits or even suspensions of those permits.
