At least three agencies in the State of Louisiana that issue debit cards through JP Morgan Chase Bank have been notified of a security breach. The financial institution put officials of the Department of Revenue, The Workforce Commission and The Department of Children and Family Services on notice yesterday concerning the security breach.

It is estimated that about 6,000 cards issued by the Louisiana Department of Revenue, over 5,000 cards issued by Children and Family Services and over 2,000 cards issued by the Workforce Commission may have been compromised.

Both the financial institution and the State of Louisiana continue to monitor the affected cards and so far no misuse has been detected. JP Morgan will be notifying cardholders whose cards may have been compromised about the security breach. If you have questions or concerns regarding your card it is suggested you contact the issuing agency for answers.
