Gone is the short-lived Best Cajun/Zydeco Album of the Year Grammy award. It was tossed as part of the Grammy folks reducing the total number of awards they hand out each year.

The only shot that a Cajun or Zydeco artist has is pretty much just the Best Regional Roots Music Album category.

Lo and behold, we got a nod.

Congratulations to Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys for their nomination in this category for their album Grand Isle.

Fellow Louisiana musicians Rebirth Brass Band and CJ Chenier also received nominations in this category.
