Somehow Black Friday has turned into a national holiday, and in recent years, stores have been opening on Thanksgiving Day to get the jump on holiday sales. This has proved to be quite controversial, and maybe not as good for business as the business owners would like to think it is. People are either mad, or, more likely, just running up to their favorite retailer after the last bit of pumpkin pie has been eaten on Thanksgiving.

I'll admit - I went to my favorite store on Thanksgiving night last year, and my philosophy on this is: it's the United States of America, and you don't have to shop if you don't want to shop. But I do feel for the workers on Thanksgiving, because I have certainly been on that end as well. And nobody ever complains about football players having to work on Thanksgiving - just sayin.
