an incident that took place in Winnfield, Louisiana
serving as pallbearers at funeral services

They didn’t know this man, but they knew that every veteran deserves to die with dignity and be honored for the sacrifices he made in defense of this nation.

Those are the words of Louisiana Congressman Ralph Abraham as reported by the Louisiana Radio Network. Congressman Abraham recognized the six young men in a speech made on the United States House of Representatives floor.

Matthew Harrell, Brett Jurek, Justin Lawson, T.J. Homan, Christian Evans and Lee Estay volunteered to serve as Hunter’s pallbearers. They didn't make that choice to get their names in the paper or on the Internet. They stepped up because a true American hero deserved to be honored in death with the same dignity he served in life.

That's what you do when you do the right thing.
