I couldn't even begin to count how many times I've walked around Downtown Lafayette and admired the great public art displayed, just about at every turn. It's probably what I like best about Downtown Lafayette. It gives the area a truly unique feel. I've often wondered who made these sculptures and painted these murals, and today I came across some great information about them I thought I'd share.

The good folks from the 2014 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival have just released the new poster, and it's awesome as usual. The poster this year celebrates Preservation Hall and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. If you wanted to get me one of these, I wouldn't be mad...just sayin.

In 1942, Parisian actress and socialite Madame de Florian fled to the South of France during the second world war, leaving everything behind. She never came back to this apartment, but kept paying the rent until her death when she was 91.

This Dad spends 10 days a month out of town on business, so when he has to leave, his kids give him pictures they’ve drawn. He colors them on the plane and gives the pictures back to them when he gets home. HOW AWESOME ARE THESE?!?!?!?!
