As a songwriter, his tunes ‘My Kinda Party’ and ‘Dirt Road Anthem,’ recorded by Jason Aldean, and his own chart-topping hit, ‘Country Must Be Country Wide,’ soared, pushing him over the top and making him a fan favorite.

There’s only one Brantley Gilbert, but that hasn’t stopped an Indiana man from trying to pose as the ‘You Don’t Know Her Like I Do’ singer. After sending emails and text messages acting as if he were the country star, 25-year-old Thomas Michael Barth has been charged with two counts of felony theft, according to a statement made by the Warsaw Police Department.

Thanks to recent news about his 2010 album release going gold, Brantley Gilbert is probably on cloud nine this week. ‘Halfway to Heaven’ contains the country star’s No. 1 hit ‘Country Must Be Country Wide,’ as well as his current Top 15 single, ‘You Don’t Know Her Like I Do’ — a song which likely helped the release sell 500,000 copies.

The pride of Jefferson, Georgia has broken into the big time. 26 year old Brantley Gilbert is now on the same record label as Reba and Justin Moore, but he has no plans to move to Music City USA. Pretty amazing, actually. "Country Must be Country Wide" is zooming up the charts, but Gilbert's heart remains in his hometown, and I have to give him total respect for that...
