He had to wait more than two and a half hours to hear his name called by Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig, but the wait was worth it for Acadiana High's Stryker Trahan. The all-state catcher for the Wreckin' Rams was selected with the 26th pick of the first round by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Earlier this week, the Texas Rangers drafted a paralyzed player in this year’s Major League Baseball draft, while their cross-state rivals Houston Astros did the same.

As Acadiana's New Orleans Saints Station we sure were watching last night's draft to see what our beloved team would do. And as the Saints are known to do, a curve ball was thrown. After selecting Defensive End Cameron Jordan (California) with the 24th pick, New Orleans traded back into the first round and scooped up Alabama Running Back Mark Ingram.

Brittany Spears Heading to WNBA
