According to a Harris Interactive survey of adults planning to buy children’s presents this holiday season, the most popular kid’s gift items — more popular than video games, board games and dolls — are books.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is very near and dear to my heart. We all have some organization or charity (hopefully) that we support or that holds special meaning for us. Right now, there are a number of children in Acadiana who are patients there. One is my little friend Ella.
June 20, 2011 Yesterday we celebrated the lesser of the parental holidays. That's not sour grapes, that's the truth. We all know that Dad's get hosed on their day but that's okay we don't need a holiday to go out and buy stupid things for ourselves! I am not knocking the ladies, it's just that fathers get very little respect for the job they do in the raising of children and support of the family. February 13, 2011 I am not sure whether I want a park, a drink or an exotic dance move named after me, but gentlemen after you read the advice I am about to throw down in your general direction you will want to thank me in some special way. You and I both know picking out a gift for Valentines is like riding a pogo stick through a mine field, it's not about "if" it's about "when" the poo is going to be introduced to the fan. But I have solved your problem, I know the answer, I am at least giving you someone to blame if it doesn't work out.
