Author's note:  High school seniors from around Acadiana will be graduating this week.  My younger brother is one of them.  They will be receiving advice from relatives, teachers, and movie producers for the next few days.  I figured I'd throw my two cents in and give this year's graduates a few words of wisdom in this open letter...

If you graduated from college you probably recall having to hand the person at the podium a card with your name on it so they can announce who you are.

Some Minnesota parents are furious after a local high school gave all its seniors breathalyzer tests at their graduation rehearsal, with school officials claiming that since they smelled alcohol on some of the kids, they were justified in screening everyone.

Kids who were born the year I started at the station are now driving and very soon they will be heading off to college. Well Mom and Dad for some of us, this it. We changed a lot of diapers, kissed a lot of boo boo's and learned "new math". We've raised them to best of our ability and with the Good Lord's Blessing.
