In spite of the disagreement between the two entities both are vowing that residents in the unincorporated portions of the parish will indeed have fire protection.
City Parish President Joey Durel announced at last nights city parish council meeting that Lafayette Consolidated Government will be severing ties with the city of Broussard. This means that as soon as legally possible LCG will no longer provide services such as fire dispatch, animal control and water.
By the end of tonight's meeting of the council we should know one of two things. There will be more Redflex cameras in operation around Lafayette or there will be NO Redflex cameras operating around Lafayette.
Lafayette is getting more national attention. This time LUS Fiber will be featured on NBC's Rock Center with Brian Williams with the episode airing later this month or early April.
