Apparently the U.S. has been way behind most of the industrialized world when it comes to sunscreens and protection of our skin.

Thus, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that starting next summer sunscreen makers will have to test their products' effectiveness against sun rays that pose the greatest danger to our skin. Right now sunscreens protect against UVB rays but not all protect against the deep-skin penetrating UVA rays.
