August 6, 2011 There are a lot of things you can conceal when you are on television. A cast on your hand and lower arm is not one of them. I mean, I guess you can hide your hand under the desk but then it would become obvious that you are hiding something, kinda like the kid in mid-chew trying to convince his mom he didn't eat the last cookie. Anyway, it's no secret. I had surgery on my right wrist area on July 27th to repair an injury.

I LOVE TELEVISION! I'm not just talking about my job in tv, I mean tv shows. And I like LOTS of them. Smart, well-written, dry humor shows are my favorite. I'm not a huge fan of the sitcom. Cop shows REALLY get my juice flowing. And even during the "dry" summer months, there's lots to watch on the cable networks, especially TNT and USA.
July 23, 2011 OK... maybe it is just me. I ran across this article and thought, FINALLY! But then I read the rest of it and thought, ugh. So, I guess there may have been those folks in "my day" that we watched just for the sake of watching.
But here's the thing... is it just me or has there been, in the last 15 years or so, a wave of people who get the spotlight just because... I have no idea why!

Loren and "Shells" are friends. That's just the simple truth of it. Loren is also a published writer and her friend is the topic of her latest book that will come out in August titled "Meet Loren's Special Friend Michelle." Michelle has a missing palate and has trouble speaking. She also has asthma and a learning disability, but that doesn't matter to Loren.
July 23, 2011 YAY, LAFAYETTE!!! The "Fun Finders" officially declared Lafayette the home of the best food in America and I was SO happy theychose us! Now, us natives already knew this to be true so this was simply affirmation, right? I had the pleasure of interviewing the Parr's on GMA in early July. They were a lovely couple from Florida and she told me they were not told what category they would have until they showed up to start touring the finalist towns. I told them the day I interviewed them that they were welcome to visit the other towns but there was no doubt in MY mind who the winner would be.
July 16, 2011 Grandparents will completely understand why I GUSH about my grandbaby. I call her my "Gigibaby" because she calls me Gigi. She turned 2 in March and is the apple of my eye, the moon in my sky. When she was born, I swear, my brain just OOZED out of my ears and I went totally stupid. Again, grandparents know! I love my children more than I love oxygen but this little girl... there are no words. Anyway, I digress.
