Did you get some gift cards for Christmas that you know you'll never really use? Maybe you've got quite a few hanging around collecting dust? Great news, because you might be able to trade all of those gift cards in at Target with their "Gift Card Exchange" program.

Target has teamed up with cardpool.com to let you trade in gift cards from other merchants for Target gift cards. Target is accepting over 600 brands of gift cards, including Old Navy, Cheesecake Factory, Tiffany and Co, Staples and Pottery Barn.

The exchange rate won't be exact face value however. For example, a $100 Walmart gift card could be exchanged for an $85 Target gift card. It's all based on the resale value of the card.

You will probably get a better exchange rate with sites like cardpool.com, but Target is all about convenience. You can exchange the card right right there on the spot, and immediately get a Target card. No waiting in the mail, and for some that's worth the smaller exchange rate.

I've done a few internet searches, and as of now I can't find definitively find out which Acadiana Target stores are participating, or find a complete list of all the cards being accepted. I'll keep looking and let you know when I find out for sure.
