Another Lafayette native has been called up to the big leagues.

The New York Yankees have placed outfielder Carlos Beltran on the disabled list, and called up former Teurlings and Alabama standout Taylor Dugas to replace him.

Dugas has split time between AA Trenton and AAA Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season.

Dugas was a four time all-SEC performer and three time All-American while at Alabama. Dugas is in the top ten in fourteen offensive categories at Alabama including hits, singles, doubles and triples.

He was an eighth round draft choice of the Yankees in 2012.

Dugas played one season with the Acadiana Cane Cutters (2011).
