LSU's season came to an end in Omaha after the TCU Horned Frogs eliminated the Tigers from the College World Series with an 8-4 victory.

After surviving one elimination game against Cal State Fullerton, the Tigers fell pray to an unkind fifth inning. LSU struck first with an RBI single by Kade Scivicque, but TCU responded with three runs in the second inning. The Tigers evened things back up at 3-3 in the third. TCU put things to bed with another three spot in the fifth, and two more insurance runs in the seventh.

Seven different LSU pitchers tried to plug the holes in the boat for Head Coach Paul Mainieri after Zac Person was pulled after a little over an inning of work. Meanwhile, TCU Pitcher Trey Teakell pitched four innings of no-hit baseball in the middle of the game to pick up the critical win.

Dane Steinhagen picked up three RBI's off three hits, while two other Horned Frogs registered multiple RBI days as well. On the Tiger side, they said goodbye to one of the greats.

Alex Bregman picked up a hit in his last game as a Tiger. The 2nd Overall Pick in the MLB Draft made an incredible defensive play behind second base though, reminding all the observers of the marvelous capabilities he displays at the shortstop position. He's not the only Tiger leaving for pro ball either.

Coach Mainieri has a lot of spots to fill next year, but with a program like LSU, he won't rebuild. He will reload.

Congrats to TCU. Omaha is sacred ground for college baseball fans. If TCU eliminated the Tigers, that means they have some serious chops. Will they claim the most coveted title in the sport? Vanderbilt awaits.
