Well here is something you don't hear all that often -- other teams interested in trading for another team's head coach.

That is the rumor swirling around right now regarding New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton. ESPN's Adam Schefter says the Miami Dolphins are one of the teams expected to be calling the Saints in the offseason to ask about the availability of the longtime Saints coach.

As wild as you may think this is, it is not unprecedented. Back in 2002, Tampa Bay fired Tony Dungy and pulled off a trade with the Oakland Raiders for their head coach, John Gruden. The deal cost the Buccaneers first and second round draft picks in 2002, a first-round choice in 2003, and a second-rounder in 2004.

It did sort of work out for the Buccaneers because Gruden did lead the team to their only Super Bowl.

Before you start thinking this is a stretch, consider where the Saints are as an organization. They have an aging quarterback and tight salary cap space that may be the reason for the team's decline the last season plus.

For the record, Payton signed a 5-year contract in 2013 that made him the league's highest paid coach.

Only time will tell how this all plays out.
