The 51st CMA Awards show was last night and there were several moments that lovers of country music are still talking about this morning.

But, there was one particular spot in the broadcast that has people in Acadiana buzzing about the most.

Carrie Underwood delivered an exquisite performance of the Christian hymn "Softly and Tenderly". It was during that song the "In Memoriam" montage of pictures was played in the background.

One by one, photos of contributors to the country music industry were displayed behind Carrie. These, of course, were of those we've lost in the past year -- stars like Glen Campbell, Don Williams and Troy Gentry of Montgomery Gentry.

And then amongst those greats came a face we all know and love here in south Louisiana, the legendary D.L. Menard.

It was only fitting that the "Cajun Hank Williams" be shown some love. As you may recall, Mr. Menard passed away in late July of this year at the age of 85.

We still love and miss you Doris Leon Menard!

The ending of the tribute was also a very touching moment as the pictures of those lost in the Las Vegas tragedy were shown. Carrie even broke down a bit towards the end.

Well done Carrie. You're a sweet lady.
