What makes The Big Bang Theory so good and such a great watch on TV? You could say it's the snarky rhetoric of Sheldon Cooper. Or you might believe it's the understated but always present girl next door sexy of Penny. You could also make a case for the soft and subtle razor sharp wit of Leonard. To me what makes The Big Bang Theory explode off the screen is Howard Wolowitz.

Howard Wolowitz is such an unlikely character that is played so brilliantly by Simon Helberg. This aerospace engineer is the perfect foil for the contrived intelligence of Sheldon. Howard is that little chunk of chocolate you find in your Rocky Road ice cream. He is like finding an onion ring in your large order of fries. In other words Howard is not the main course by any means but he sure makes the meal memorable and you know it wouldn't be nearly as memorable with out him.
