The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns basketball team knew that they would have a tough task when they traveled up to Monroe to face ULM. The Warhawks had lost their last 2 games at the buzzer and they were mad at the world and wanted to take out their frustration on the Cajuns. The Warhawks' lights-out shooting in the first half propelled them to a win defeating Louisiana 99-95

The Warhawks started out fast in the first half and were shooting lights out and were shooting as much as 65% from the field. The Warhawks got their lead to as much as 22 in the first half and the Cajuns came on late in the first half to get the lead down to 10 but the Warhawks pushed the lead back up to 14 before the end of the half. Jakeenan Gant and Cedric Russell helped get the Cajuns back in the game as they scored 13 points and 9 points respectively in the first half.

The Cajuns were able to keep up with ULM's pace in the second half. The Cajuns made it a game late as they were down by as little as 2 points but the Warhawks lights out shooting in the first half proved to be too much for the Cajuns. The Cajuns battled hard to get back into the game and made it an exciting one. Jakeenan Gant led the Cajuns scoring with 31 points. He added 10 rebounds while PJ Hardy had 24 points. Marcus Stroman added 13 points and 12 assists for the Cajuns.

Louisiana will return home to the Cajundome for the next two games as they will face South Alabama on Thursday and Troy on Saturday. Both games can be heard on HOT 107.9 and will be played at 7 PM.
