Christmas! Why it's not even Halloween! I know that's what you're thinking. This time it's okay to think about Christmas in mid-October because in the music business things move very slow. Such was the case in 1958 when Little Miss Dynamite, Brenda Lee recorded the timeless hit  Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree.

That recording took place on this day back in 1958. Brenda was only 13 years old at the time. The song featured a few other famous Nashville folks on the recording. The guitar licks were compliments of Hank Garland. The saxophone solo was done by one of my personal favorites, Boots Randolph. Boots is the guy who gave us Yakety Sax, you can't watch a Benny Hill Video without hearing it.

The song has been covered in subsequent years by such stars as Mickey Gilley, Alabama, Toby Keith, Green Day, Cyndy Lauper, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Rosie O'Donnell and many more.
