When you live your life through the songs on the radio time seems to never move. For me it seems as if it was just last week when I dropped the needle, okay put a CD in the machine, on a new single from Mary Chapin Carpenter. That song that came jumping out of the speakers was called Passionate Kisses.

Here's a quick quiz,Mary Chapin Carpenter won a Grammy award for Passionate Kisses on this date, what year did Passionate Kisses win the Grammy?

Mary Chapin Carpenter was already a shining star on Country Music's biggest stages by the time this new single reached the airwaves. Here in South Louisiana we'd already joined Mary "Down at the Twist and Shout" featuring our good friends BeauSoleil.

Mary earned a Grammy for that one in 1992. In 1993 she again earned a Grammy Award for "I Feel Lucky". Mary continued her string of Grammy wins in 1994 when "Passionate Kisses" picked up a trophy. Did you guess the right year? Can you believe it's been 20 years!

The Grammy train continued on down the tracks in 1995 when Mary earned another Grammy nod for "Shut Up and Kiss Me". In total Mary Chapin Carpenter has been recognized with 5 Grammys, 2 CMA awards and 2 ACM awards.
