Big week in the league, not only for standings, but also for bowl eligibility.  Four different teams have a chance to pick up win #6 this weekend.  (Two are playing each other.).  In addition, there's another game where the loser can forget about postseason (if they really have a chance to begin with).

And, two of the league's worst teams meet in what could be their last chance to get win #2.

GEORGIA STATE (1-8. 0-6) AT TROY (1-8. 1-4) (-7)  Saturday, 2pm, ESPN3--Georgia State found out going from a domed stadium to a driving snowstorm isn't a good thing as they had less than 100 yards offense in getting hammered at App State last week.  And, honestly, the games wasn't as close as the score indicated.  Troy has had a couple of extra days to prepare after last Thursday's loss.  There aren't too many chances left for Larry Blakeney to taste a win on the field named after him.  I expect his players will try to make that happen.

SOUTH ALABAMA (5-3, 4-2)  AT ARKANSAS STATE (5-3, 3-1) (-3.5*)--Saturday, 2pm, ESPN3 --The Jaguars were beaten and, in one case, beaten up at Louisiana last Saturday and they have another tough  one in Jonesboro, where the Red Wolves don't lose often.  The issue is quarterback Brandon Bridge.  The senior was knocked from the game last week and, with leading ball carrier Jay Jones out, this team will be in trouble if Bridge can't play.  Even if he does, it may not be enough.  South Alabama's defense will keep the Jags in it if they don't give up the big play.

UL MONROE (3-5, 2-2) at APPALACHIAN STATE (3-5, 2-2) (-4)  Saturday, 2:30, ESPN3)--The Warhawks came close to pulling an upset over Texas A&M last week, but came up short.  That's four straight losses for the reeling Warhawks, who now have to make the trek to Boone to take on a Mountaineers club that's averaged 47 points per game over their last three.  The good news for ULM is, it's not going to snow.  The bad news for ULM is, App has won 20 of their last 21 home games played in the month of November.

GEORGIA SOUTHERN (7-2, 6-0) (-12.5) at TEXAS STATE (5-3, 3-1)--Saturday, 3pm, ESPN3---The Eagles continue to fly high as their win streak is now at 6 following their win over Troy last Thursday.  Texas State might be the only thing standing between them and at least a share of the conference title (they face ULM at home in their final league game).  The Bobcats can get bowl eligible in this one, but to do it they'll have to find a way to slow down the ground game of Georgia Southern that's averaging over 400 yards a game.  Texas State needs to have some ground success as well, if for no other reason than to play keep away.

IDAHO (1-7, 1-5) AT SAN DIEGO STATE (4-4, 3-2) (-21)  Saturday 5:30, Root Sports--Who cares?  Well, San Diego State certainly does.  They have to split their last four games to get bowl-eligible, and two of them are against Boise State and Air Force.  That makes this a must win for the Aztecs.  Idaho's challenge, as it has been all year, is to keep their quarterback upright.  They haven't succeeded in that yet.

LOUISIANA (5-3, 4-0) (-16) AT NEW MEXICO STATE (2-7, 1-4)  Saturday, 7pm, ESPN3--At first glance it would appear this matchup plays right into the Cajuns hands.  But not so fast.  NMSU moves the football and scores against everyone.  And, they're going to put points up in this game as well.  And, Louisiana has a banged up running back who is questionable to even play Saturday.  New Mexico State has turned it over at an alarming rate.  The Cajuns haven't been great turning over the opposition.  The Aggies have lost seven in a row, but they're dangerous.  This one will probably be closer than a lot of people think.
