Throw Me something , Mister! Lafayette Consolidated Government Public Works Department employees are set to begin placing 5,500 barricades in the Downtown area at 8 a.m. Thursday. They'll start at the intersection of Jefferson and Simcoe streets and end at the Vermilion and Johnston streets intersection. Mardi Gras is here!

Saturday parades in Lafayette include the Krewe des Chiens Parade for DAWGS Saturday at 2:00, and the Krewe of Carnivale en RIO parade Saturday night at 6:30. The barricades will be moved to the shoulder of the roadways after the Rio parade. For details on which roads will be closed, and where the barricades will be set up, click HERE.
