Tip From Television Viewer Leads To Home Burglary Arrest

A tip from a person watching a local television station has landed 43-year-old Eric Donyell Petry of Abbeville behind bars for allegedly robbing a home on Coin Road near Rayne on Monday.

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon says his office got the tip on who the accused burglar was from the television viewer who saw the homeowner's video on TV. Authorities in Acadia Parish confirmed the suspect's identity with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office.

Petry is in the Acadia Parish Jail on one count of Simple Burglary.
