As we are gearing up for another fun and unique holiday season in Louisiana, It is so great to be in a place that has great weather, great food,and great Christmas decorations. Only in Louisiana has come up with the Top 9 Christmas Towns in Louisiana, and I'm not surprised at all by the holiday spirit in some of our favorite destinations here in the Bayou State! Their list is below, but feel free to add your own in, or let us know where else to look for that 'special something' that makes your town so festive.

• Minden - Sometimes known as the 'Friendliest City in the South'
• Lutcher - Home of the Christmas Eve Festival of the Bonfires
• Natchitoches - the historic 'Christmas Festival of Lights' is the first weekend of every December
• Opelousas - Le Vieux Village historic Christmas lighting, invites the whole community out for gumbo and holiday cheer
• Alexandria / Pineville - the fabulous Christmas parade is a highlight of the season
• Monroe / West Monroe - 'Christmas on the River' is an annual event
• New Orleans - 'Christmas in the Oaks' is an amazing display of lights at City Park
• Shreveport - 'Christmas at Roseland' is held at the American Rose Center
• Lafayette - Noel Acadien au Village is celebrated at historic Acadien Village
