Road construction projects on two major thoroughfare's in Acadiana will create traffic headaches for drivers beginning today. The roadways affected are Robley Drive near Lowe's at Ambassador Caffery Parkway and the Veterans Roundabout near Rouses in Youngsville.

The Robley closure is because of drainage work that is being done in the area. The closure is expected to take the balance of the week to complete and motorist are encouraged to plan alternate routes of travel.

In Youngsville work is expected to begin today on the Veterans Circle Roundabout. East bound traffic through the circle will be able to pass through the area during the next few weeks but westbound traffic will be detoured to alternate routes. Following completion of work on the westbound side closures will switch to eastbound traffic. It is expected to take at least a month and half to rebuild the circle.

In both construction areas motorist are encouraged to plan alternate routes or allow time for detours around the affected areas.
