Defensive lineman Travonte Valentine has been cleared to return to LSU.

A four-star member of LSU's 2014 recruiting class, Valentine received a passing grade in a summer intersession class, the final hurdle he needed to be cleared.

After redshirting in 2014, and then being dismissed from the LSU team for violating team rules, Valentine went to Arizona Western College, before being dismissed there following an arrest.

Valentine then moved on to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he completed coursework during the summer, prior to enrolling at LSU.

Word of Valentine returning to LSU began to make the rounds in July, when it was reported that Valentine needed to pass two classes to become immediately eligible.

Valentine then actually began practicing with the team, but needed to pass one more class before his eligibility was restored.

Finally, on Monday, LSU confirmed Valentine received a passing grade in the course, making him eligible for the 2016 season.

Valentine, who is 6-foot-4 and 355 pounds, and a native of Hialeah, Florida, will have three of eligibility remaining.
