Two men have now been charged in connection with the pipe bombs found yesterday during a traffic stop in Carencro.

Paul Parker of Carencro and Jake Richard of Henderson remain in the Lafayette Parish Jail on manufacture and possession of a bomb charges.

Deputies say they found a capped PVC pipe bomb and a rectangular object wrapped in duct tape after they pulled over Richard's truck on Briarfield Road. Both items had wicks protruding from them.

Eight homes in the area were evacuated while police secured the devices.

 

Deputies say at this point, they have no evidence showing the two men intended to use the pipe bombs on anyone.
