That headline should not be a shock. It's the fourth year in a row that the University of Louisiana at Lafayette has earned that distinction. This means students and parents looking to get the most bang for the higher education buck can count on our hometown university to deliver the curriculum and incentive to insure a great future.

U.L. was determined to lead the state with the lowest net price to attend. The annual net price for attending U.L. was $5,911. The national average price for a four year public university was $11,582. This puts the University of Louisiana in the top ten percent of the most affordable four year public universities in the nation. The net price was determined by subtracting  the average contributions of government or institutional grants or scholarships from the total cost of attendance.

The data used for this study was reported by the U.S. Department of Education and based upon full-time, beginning undergraduate students. The affordability designation is based on statistics for the most recent academic year.
