U.S. National Texting Championship – Really It’s A Competition

Those mindless hours your teenager spends  LOLing or OMGing with friends could pay big money. Who knew there was such a thing as a national championship of texting? The competition is sponsored by the LG company, they make smart phones so it makes sense they would want to be in the middle of all this.

This afternoon (Wednesday) 11 contestants from around the nation will converge on New York City for the chance to take home $50-Thousand dollars as top prize. Some of the better texters can type as fast as 3 letters per second. I know I can't text that fast. My fat fingers on the small keyboard of today's phone is a recipe for misspelled words and inappropriate sayings thanks to auto correct. Here are some highlights from  last year's competition.
