UL Cheerleading Squad Welcomes Special Needs Student [VIDEO]

The UL cheerleading squad has welcomed its newest member this basketball season, 24-year-old Melanie Jankowers.

Melanie is a special needs student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and she is part of “learning is for everyone” program at UL.

Like most young girls, Melanie has always wanted to be a cheerleader, and now she is at the collegiate level. Her energy and love for the Cajuns is contagious.

Not only have her teammates welcomed her with open arms, so too have the fans at basketball games. If you happen to attend a UL basketball game this season be sure to look for Melanie and be sure to give her a UL Ragin' Cajun roar.
