The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Spencer also reportedly had offers from Arkansas State, Arkansas Pine Bluff, Northwestern State, Nicholls State, and Southeast Missouri State.

Spencer was one of four commitments the Cajuns picked up this week.

Southern Lab outside linebacker Tyler Guidry (6-foot-2, 220 pounds) announced late Sunday night his commitment.


Finally, North DeSoto athlete Aubrey Scott (5-foot-10, 165 pounds), who reportedly chose Louisiana over an offer from Florida, gave his verbal pledge last Wednesday.

The four join Catholic-New Iberia receiver Peter LeBlanc, Erath offensive lineman Jax Harrington, West Florida Tech (Pensacola, Florida) defensive back Amir McDaniel, E D White (Thibodaux, La.) athlete/receiver Grandon Legendre, Metairie (La.) Archbishop Rummel (Metairie, La.) quarterback Chandler Fields, Neville (Monroe, La.) offensive tackle Logan Newell, Mcdonough 35 (New Orleans, La.) safety Jaden Henderson, South Oak Cliff (Dallas, Texas) cornerback Bobby Holmes, Spring (Texas) High quarterback Clifton McDowell, Glendale (Arizona) Community College receiver Brian Smith and Chalmette (Louisiana) High offensive tackle Nathan Thomas as UL football verbal commitments.
